AI Action Plan
Keep the momentum and action of AI Day and the Activity Pack going!
Below are activities and suggestions for you and your team to further explore and apply AI.
Apply & Try
Task Tester
- At the start of each week, review the tasks you need to complete.
- Choose one task to accomplish with the help of AI.
- Choose the AI Tool you think would be the best fit. (Try a tool from an activity or the AI Tools Cheat Sheet.)
- Use AI to help you with that task.
- Reflect on how AI helped. (Or how it didn’t!) Did it save you time? Did it lead to better results? Would you use AI again for the task, why or why not?
Create Your Own GPT
- Explore the possibility of creating a GPT for your team or your individual routine tasks. Check out this “How-to” from OpenAI.
- Choose a task you regularly do and with which you think AI could help.
- Follow the steps in the “How-to” to create a custom GPT to help you complete your chosen task.
- Try using your GPT for the task a few times. Assess its efficacy, and refine it as you see fit.
- If relevant, share your GPT with a colleague for their feedback.
- Note: Make sure you get clearance from your organization's legal team before uploading any documents to an AI service.
Play & Experiment
AI Day… Again!
- Hold another AI Day in a month, 6 months, or whenever is right for your team!
- Try activities you didn’t do this time around, or shuffle groups and revisit some of your favorites.
- You can even create new experiments and explorations with your colleagues. (Ask AI for some activity ideas!)
Try-a-Tool
- Pick a team member to join forces with on a regular basis (monthly or weekly) to explore and experiment with some AI tools from the AI Tools Cheat Sheet.
- You can both try the same tool, or you can choose your own tools and teach each other about them.
Learn & Collaborate
AI Check-Ins
- Schedule regular (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) check-ins for your team to share:
- how they’ve been using AI for their work
- tools they’ve used
- learnings and questions
- challenges and successes
- Check-ins can be done synchronously in a quick meeting or via a Slack channel or collaborative board, and with a partner, an AI Day group, or a whole team.
Lunch and Learn
- Team up with a colleague or two (or more).
- Have everyone pick either the same or a different resource from the AI Top Hits to listen to, watch, or read.
- Then, set a time to discuss! Share what you learned, questions you have, and anything else notable that stood out to you.
- Of course, this doesn’t need to be lunch — a coffee break, walk-and-talk, or a quick conversation also work!
